Tonight’s the night we’ve been waiting for. In just under an hour we’ll finally get our hands on what will (mostly) be the roster of the 31st NHL team, the Vegas Golden Knights.
Throughout the day, though, we’ve been hearing buzz on just exactly what the list handed over to the NHL by George McPhee contains.
Here’s what we know.
According to TSN’s Bob McKenzie the Ducks have made a deal to give over Clayton Stoner to Vegas in exchange for retaining Josh Manson and Sami Vatanen.
Colin Miller will be selected from Boston.
It’ll be Trevor van Riemsdyk from Chicago.
Defenseman Griffin Reinhart from Edmonton will soon be a Golden Knight.
Rielly Smith and Johnathan Marchessault from Florida.
Defenseman Brayden McNabb from LA to the Golden Knights.
Alexei Emelin from Montreal – after a little bit of confusion.
Jean-Francis Berube will head over from the Islanders as part of a larger deal.
To no one’s shock or surprise, Marc-Andre Fleury will certainly be the face of the Golden Knights.
David Perron has been knighted as well from the Blues.
And lastly Nate Schmidt is Vegas bound.
That’s what we know so far. Stay tuned for more as the list will be revealed at 8pm EST.
