Buzz as Trade Freeze Ends

Vegas has their official roster and they are ready to wheel and deal.

We’re not surprised to hear plenty of buzz this morning as the trade freeze has officially ending. Mostly concerning (new) Vegas Golden Knights’ D man Marc Methot. Speculation has put Calgary and Dallas at the front of his suitors.

Most likely we will see Trevor Van Riemsdyk headed to Carolina pretty soon.

Alexei Emelin and David Schlemko are also rumoured to be flipped by Vegas this week.

Another rumour that may never come to fruition involves another of their defencemen (and they’ve got plenty of them) Colin Miller, received from Boston in the expansion draft may be headed to Toronto in a deal. Again, just speculation but a possibility.

Outside of Golden Knights’ buzz, it’s been reported that Edmonton will be trading Jordan Eberle to Minnesota for some more help on the back end. Other interest reportedly comes from the New York Islanders. Nothing is set, however.

On Minnesota’s end, it seems they’re interested in shipping out Jonas Brodin and Marco Scandella. There’s interest possibly from Montreal but otherwise up in the air.

We’ll keep you up to date as we follow teams leading to the (regular) 2017 NHL Entry Draft this weekend!
